HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 2U Server

This 2U rack server ships with a single Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 twelve-core processor at 2.3 GHz and 128 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory. It supports up to two processors and 3 TB total memory across 24 DIMM slots. The Smart HBA H240ar controller provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/60. Designed for virtualisation, database and general compute workloads in the data centre.

Build quality and connectivity

Redundant hot-swap 500 W power supplies maintain uptime during module replacement. Eight small form factor 2.5-inch drive bays accept SAS or SATA media; trays and screws are included but drives are not. Expansion options include a universal media bay, NVMe bays or additional SFF cages in bays two and three. Integrated Matrox G200eH2 graphics with 16 MB video memory handles console output.

Thermals, noise and power

Dual 500 W redundant supplies share load, reducing per-unit stress and fan speed under typical utilisation. Hot-swap fans and power modules allow service without shutdown, keeping acoustic output proportional to actual thermal demand.
