This 1U rack server ships with a single Intel Xeon Silver 4510 processor running at 2.40 GHz across 12 cores and 30 MB of L3 cache. Sixty-four gigabytes of HPE DDR5 Smart Memory at 5600 MT/s come installed as two 32 GB modules. Dual storage controllers — an NS204i-u boot device and an MR408i-o controller with 4 GB cache — manage the eight SFF bays. A four-port 1 GbE Broadcom BCM5719 OCP3 adapter handles networking. The platform targets general-purpose workloads in density-constrained racks.

Compatibility checks before ordering

Verify that your rack provides 1U of vertical space and can accommodate the unit depth of 38.98 inches. Confirm the facility can deliver redundant power to the two 800 W Flex Slot Platinum hot-plug supplies. Ensure any planned add-in cards fit within the maximum of three PCIe Gen5 slots and two OCP 3.0 PCIe5 slots. The eight SFF bays accept 2.5-inch hot-plug drives; larger form factors will not fit. Network uplinks are limited to the four onboard 1 GbE ports unless an additional OCP adapter is installed.

Thermals, noise and power in normal use

Seven high-performance hot-swap fans provide active cooling for the single-socket configuration and fully populated drive bays. The dual 800 W platinum-efficiency supplies share load and maintain operation if one unit fails. Fan speed ramps with inlet temperature and component utilisation, so acoustic output rises under sustained compute or storage throughput. Power draw scales with CPU utilisation, memory population and drive activity; the redundant supply design keeps the system running during a single power-source interruption.
