This USB to RS485 converter adds two independent serial channels to a host computer. It is aimed at engineers and technicians who need reliable Modbus or custom protocol links in industrial or automation projects. The onboard FT2232HL chip handles the USB-to-serial translation without extra drivers on most modern operating systems.
Each channel carries its own power and digital isolation so ground loops and noise do not corrupt data. Onboard TVS devices clamp surge and transient spikes while a self-recovery fuse and protection diodes guard against over-current and over-voltage events. A 120 ohm termination resistor is fitted on each port and can be enabled or disabled with a jumper for bus matching.
The small ABS case clips onto a standard DIN rail so the board sits securely inside a cabinet. Three status LEDs show power and per-channel transmit and receive activity for quick diagnostics. Installers who need screw-terminal blocks or software-configurable baud rates will find those features absent and should plan accordingly.
