Dual Bay M.2 SATA & 2.5/3.5″ SATA Enclosure

This dual-bay enclosure connects M.2 SATA SSDs in 2230, 2242, 2260 or 2280 sizes and 2.5 or 3.5 inch SATA III drives to a host via USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C. It uses an RTL9210B controller to reach a theoretical 10Gbps link speed. An independent 12V 3A power adapter is included for 3.5 inch drives. The aluminium-alloy case acts as a heatsink and an LED shows power and activity status.

Suits users swapping single drives between USB-C

It fits technicians who need tool-free access to one M.2 SATA or one 2.5/3.5″ SATA drive at a time. A physical drive switch selects the active bay and a power-cycle confirms the change. Builders wanting simultaneous access to both bays, hardware RAID or offline cloning should look elsewhere. The enclosure does not support NVMe protocol drives despite the M.2 slot accepting the form factor.

Drive-switch design allows only one active bay

Selecting M.2 or SATA via the switch and then toggling power activates the chosen bay. Both bays cannot be read or written concurrently. This constraint defines the workflow for data recovery, OS migration or archival tasks where drives are handled sequentially.
