The 2Rx8 organisation and CL40 latency allow the slot to run at its rated PC5-38400 speed without down-clocking. It is built for servers that require registered DIMMs and will not accept unbuffered or SODIMM alternatives.
The registered architecture buffers address and command signals, letting every populated slot operate at full capacity while reducing electrical load on the controller. On-board ECC detects and corrects single-bit errors in real time, preventing silent data corruption and unplanned reboots in production workloads. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow clearance follows the motherboard's standard DIMM spacing rules.
