This 1 TB kit delivers eight 128 GB registered ECC DDR5 modules running at 4800 MT/s with CL40 latency. It targets administrators upgrading HP ProLiant DL320 Gen11, DL380a Gen11 or DX320 Gen11 platforms that require registered memory. The kit is not suited for standard desktop boards or systems that accept only unbuffered or load-reduced DIMMs.

Registered DDR5 interface limits

Registered DDR5 adds a clock cycle for the register, so latency is higher than unbuffered equivalents at the same data rate. The 4800 MT/s JEDEC speed is the baseline for this generation; overclocking headroom is minimal on server platforms that lock memory timing. Mixing these 4Rx4 modules with any other rank configuration or memory type will prevent the system from posting.

Build and connector implications

Each module uses a 288-pin DDR5 edge connector and operates at 1.1 V without a heat spreader, relying on chassis airflow for cooling. The eight-stick population fills every slot on compatible two-socket boards, leaving no room for future expansion unless higher-density parts become qualified. Handling requires ESD precautions because the exposed DRAM packages are sensitive to static discharge.
