It is designed for workstation, server, NAS and router platforms that require ECC registered memory. Standard desktop computers cannot use these modules.

240-pin DDR3 installation notes

Modules install in the standard 240-pin DDR3 slots on the supported Supermicro boards. Registered DIMMs must not be mixed with unbuffered memory in the same system. The kit replaces Supermicro part MEMDR316LSL05ER13 and follows JEDEC specifications for a direct swap.
