Debug tool for SAM and AVR MCUs

The SEDNA Atmel-ICE-C engineering development tool provides programming and on-chip debugging for Atmel ARM Cortex-M based SAM and AVR microcontrollers. It uses the original ATMEL-ICE-PCBA inside a durable aluminium alloy enclosure. The tool supports JTAG, SWD, PDI, TPI, aWire, SPI and debugWIRE interfaces for full source-level debugging in Atmel Studio. It is suited for developers working with 32-bit AVR MCUs and AVR XMEGA family devices.

Check software and voltage compatibility

Verify that your development environment runs Atmel Studio 6.2 or higher, or ICC8AVR or higher, to access full source-level debugging and HEX file programming support. Ensure target devices operate within the 1.62 to 5.5V range supported by the debugger. Confirm the target board provides either the ARM Cortex Debug Connector 10-pin pin-out or the AVR JTAG connector pin-out for physical connection.

Aluminium enclosure with dual connector support

The aluminium alloy enclosure protects the PCBA during daily bench use. Both the ARM Cortex 10-pin debug connector and the AVR JTAG connector pin-outs are provided, allowing direct attachment to compatible target boards without extra adapters. USB powering simplifies desk setup by removing the need for an external supply. Hardware breakpoint count depends on the target OCD module, while up to 128 software breakpoints are available in Atmel Studio.
