Multi-interface expansion
This PCIe card adds eSATA, one internal SATA port and an IDE connector to a desktop system. It is intended for users who need to connect legacy IDE drives, internal SATA storage and external eSATA devices simultaneously. The board also supports booting from optical drives and hard disks, making it suitable for system installation on older hardware. Industrial PC builders and retro-computing enthusiasts will find the combined interfaces convenient for storage expansion.
Interface speed and port limits
The eSATA and internal SATA ports operate at the SATA revision supported by the host platform, while the IDE channel follows legacy parallel ATA timing. Only one internal SATA device can be attached directly to the card, so additional SATA drives require a separate controller or motherboard ports. External eSATA cables are limited to the standard two-metre length, and the single IDE connector supports up to two devices in a master/slave arrangement. Bandwidth is shared across all active ports through the PCIe lane allocation of the slot used.
RAID capability
An on-board RAID controller provides array functionality across the connected drives, enabling redundancy or performance configurations without a separate HBA. This hardware RAID support is the decisive specification for buyers who need data protection or striping across mixed IDE, SATA and eSATA devices. Systems without a requirement for hardware RAID arrays will not benefit from this feature.

Jautājumi par šo preci
Should I pick this card or a simpler SATA-only adapter for my build?
Choose this card if you need eSATA, internal SATA and legacy IDE on one PCIe slot, plus RAID support; a SATA-only adapter cannot connect IDE or external eSATA drives.
What does the built-in RAID function actually do for my drives?
The on-board RAID controller lets you combine the attached SATA and IDE drives into arrays for redundancy or speed, so a single drive failure will not lose data.
Which PCIe lane width does this card need and what throughput ceiling does that impose?
The card fits any PCIe x1 or larger slot; the lane width caps total bandwidth to that slot's generation limit, which then governs maximum eSATA and SATA transfer rates.
