Secure portable storage
The Apricorn Aegis Padlock is a 240 GB external solid-state drive with hardware-based 256-bit AES encryption validated to FIPS 140-2 Level 2. It connects via USB 3.0 and operates across Windows, Mac and Linux without requiring software installation. The integrated keypad handles authentication directly on the device.
Keypad-driven encryption
A built-in alphanumeric keypad lets users set PINs and manage access policies before the drive mounts, so no host software or drivers are needed. The drive locks automatically when unplugged or after inactivity, and a brute-force counter wipes encryption keys after repeated failed attempts. Admin and user modes support separate PINs for shared deployments.
Rugged aluminium enclosure
The crush-resistant aluminium housing measures 3.2 by 0.5 by 2.5 inches and weighs 1.6 ounces, with no moving parts for silent operation. It is rated for storage temperatures from -40 °C to 70 °C, resists high humidity, and withstands shock and vibration. A captive USB 3.0 cable eliminates loose connectors during transport.
