This Dell S3520 solid-state drive provides 960 GB of capacity over a 6 Gbps SATA interface. It uses MLC flash tuned for read-intensive workloads in a 2.5-inch form factor. The drive is validated for Dell PowerEdge servers including R640, R740, R740XD, R750 and R760 models.

Suited for read-heavy server tiers.

The read-intensive endurance profile fits boot volumes, content delivery and database read replicas. Workloads that sustain heavy random writes — such as transaction logging or high-frequency caching — exceed the design target and should select a drive rated for mixed or write-intensive use.

6 Gbps SATA interface decides compatibility

The drive communicates over a 6 Gbps SATA link and requires a backplane or controller that supports this protocol. A backplane or controller that only supports PCIe will not work with this unit.
