Server identity

The Dell PowerEdge R750 is a 2U rack server built for enterprise workloads that demand dual-socket compute density. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4314 processors, each offering 16 cores at 2.4 GHz with 3.4 GHz turbo. The system includes 128 GB of DDR4-2666 registered ECC memory across eight DIMMs. A PERC H755 RAID controller with 8 GB NV cache manages up to twelve 3.5-inch SAS or SATA drive trays. Dual 10 GbE SFP+ ports and iDRAC9 Enterprise provide connectivity and remote management out of the box.

Thermals and power

Dual 1400 W platinum-efficiency power supplies operate in redundant hot-swap mode to maintain uptime during a module failure. The 2U chassis uses Dell's engineered airflow path to cool both CPUs, memory, and the twelve drive bays under sustained load. Fan speeds scale with inlet temperature and component utilisation, keeping acoustic output within typical data-centre limits. Power draw varies with workload but the platinum-rated units maintain high efficiency across the operating range.

Storage capacity limit

The server accommodates twelve 3.5-inch trays for SAS or SATA hard drives and solid-state drives. Maximum raw capacity is determined by the highest-capacity 3.5-inch drives available at deployment time. NVMe devices are not supported in these trays; builders who need NVMe density must choose a different chassis configuration. The H755 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for data protection and performance tuning.
