The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server that can be converted for rack mounting. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4110 processors running at 2.1GHz with a 3.0GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 64GB of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory across four modules. A PERC HBA330 controller provides 12Gb/s SAS and SATA connectivity for up to sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays.

Upgrade from Single-Socket or Smaller Chassis

This configuration doubles the processor count compared to single-socket platforms, adding sixteen cores and a second memory controller. The jump is worth it when virtualization density, database throughput or concurrent user counts exceed what one CPU can sustain.
