SATA to IDE bridge for legacy boards
This adapter lets you connect a modern SATA hard drive or DVD burner to an older motherboard that only provides a 40-pin PATA interface. The board carries a JM20330 chipset and presents a single 22-pin SATA connector alongside the 40-pin IDE port. A 4-pin Molex header supplies the necessary power for the attached drive. It is aimed at repair technicians and hobbyists maintaining vintage systems.
Replaces a native PATA drive with SATA storage
The jump is worthwhile when the original IDE drive has failed or when you need capacities beyond what legacy PATA disks offered. The adapter supports ATA 100 and ATA 133 transfer modes and is compliant with the SATA specification for drives up to 2 TB. No drivers are required; the host sees the SATA device as a standard IDE unit.
Fits a 3.5 or 2.5 inch SATA drive into an IDE chain
The converter occupies one device position on the IDE cable and draws auxiliary power from a spare Molex lead. It frees you from hunting for increasingly rare PATA hard disks or optical drives. Builders who need a second IDE device on the same channel or who require a SATA-to-SATA connection will not be served by this single-port bridge.

Bu ürünle ilgili sorular
Does the adapter need a 3.5-inch drive bay or can it sit on the motherboard?
The board plugs directly into a 40-pin IDE header on the motherboard and connects a SATA drive via its 22-pin port; no drive bay is required.
What is the correct order to connect the Molex power, the IDE cable and the SATA drive?
Attach the 4-pin Molex power to the adapter first, then plug the 40-pin IDE connector into the motherboard, and finally connect the SATA drive to the 22-pin port.
Will the JM20330 chipset need a firmware update or driver to keep working with larger drives?
The JM20330 operates as a hardware bridge with no firmware updates or drivers required; it supports drives up to 2TB without further maintenance.
