This 64GB DDR5 4800 ECC RDIMM module is built for the Dell PowerEdge XE9640 server. It adds registered error-correcting memory to systems that require data integrity under sustained workloads. The single-module design lets administrators populate slots one at a time.

DDR5 4800 Registered ECC Limits

The module runs at 4800 MT/s with CL40 latency at 1.1V across 288 pins. Registered buffering and 2Rx4 organisation add command and address buffering plus on-die ECC, which increases signal stability but adds one cycle of latency compared with unbuffered memory. Maximum capacity per channel and total system capacity are defined by the server platform, not by this module alone.

Replaces Lower-Capacity DDR5 RDIMMs

Swapping smaller DDR5 RDIMMs for this 64GB part increases total memory without adding modules, useful when all slots are occupied or when licensing costs scale per socket. The upgrade is worthwhile when the workload hits capacity limits on the existing configuration. It does not help if the bottleneck is memory bandwidth or if the platform cannot address the additional rank density.
