Industrial 8-port PCI serial card

The UOTEK UT-768 adds eight RS-232 ports to any 32-bit universal PCI slot running at 3.3 V or 5 V. It targets industrial automation, POS and ATM systems that must connect legacy serial devices such as modems, printers or scanners. Each port supplies full modem-control signals including DCD, DTR, DSR, RTS and CTS.

DB-62 to eight DB-9 breakout

A single DR62 female connector on the bracket carries all eight channels; a separate cable splits them into standard DB-9 male ports for direct device attachment. The card supports data rates from 300 bps to 921.6 kbps with 5, 6, 7 or 8 data bits, 1, 1.5 or 2 stop bits and parity options of none, even, odd, space or mark.

Extended temperature operation

The board is rated for continuous use from -40 °C to 85 °C, so it remains reliable inside fanless enclosures or harsh factory floors. Flow control uses hardware RTS/CTS and software XON/XOFF to prevent buffer overruns during sustained high-throughput sessions. Driver support spans Windows 2000 through 10, Windows NT 4.0, Windows CE 4.2, 5.0, 6.0, VxWorks and Linux 2.4.x/2.6.x kernels.
