Industrial 8-port serial card
The UOTEK UT-798 adds eight RS-422 and RS-485 ports through a single PCI Express x1 slot running at 2.5 Gbps. It targets industrial automation, building management and data-acquisition systems that need many balanced serial links from one host computer.
Sustained-load behaviour
The card operates continuously from -40 °C to 85 °C, so it remains reliable inside hot enclosures or outdoor cabinets. On-board transient voltage suppressors clamp surges on every line, protecting the host from lightning-induced spikes and ESD events during long production runs.
Interface limits
Each port supports 300 bps to 921.6 kbps with configurable data bits, stop bits and parity. Flow control uses RTS/CTS or XON/XOFF. The DB-62 female connector carries all eight channels, so cable length and signal quality follow the RS-422/RS-485 electrical specifications rather than the PCIe bus speed.
