The ankmax UC4M2 is a new USB 4 Type-C enclosure that accepts a single M.2 2280 NVMe SSD up to 8 TB. It uses a dual-chip controller to deliver up to 40 Gbps bandwidth and works with Windows, macOS and Linux without drivers.

Suits users with NVMe M.2 2280 drives only

This enclosure fits M-key or B+M-key NVMe modules in the 2280 form factor. It cannot accept drives of other protocols, sizes or keying, so buyers with shorter modules or non-NVMe interfaces must choose a different solution.

40 Gbps USB 4 Type-C interface

The USB 4.0 Type-C port provides a maximum 40 Gbps link and is compatible with Thunderbolt 3 and 4 hosts. Measured sequential reads reach 2,712 MB/s and writes 2,445 MB/s with a 1 TB NVMe SSD on a MacBook Air.
