Z790 ATX motherboard for LGA 1700

The MSI MPG Z790 EDGE TI MAX WIFI is an ATX board built around the Intel Z790 chipset for LGA 1700 processors. It accepts 12th, 13th and 14th generation Core CPUs as well as Pentium Gold and Celeron chips. Four 288-pin DDR5 slots provide dual-channel memory up to 192 GB.

DDR5 capacity and overclocking headroom

The board supports JEDEC speeds from 4800 MHz to 5600 MHz and XMP 3.0 profiles reaching 7800+ MHz with a single-rank DIMM per channel. Populating all four slots reduces the practical ceiling to 5600+ MHz for dual-rank kits. Five M.2 sockets and eight SATA 6Gb/s ports give ample room for NVMe and SATA storage arrays.

Thermals, noise and power delivery

A 16+1+1 mirrored power arrangement with dual 8-pin CPU connectors feeds the socket under heavy loads.
