Server-grade DDR3L ECC RDIMM kit

This OWC kit supplies 16 GB of DDR3L registered ECC memory as two 8 GB modules. It is built for Supermicro SuperServer platforms including the 8047R, 8048B, F617R2, F617R3 and F627G2 series. Workstations or servers that require registered DIMMs with error correction are the intended audience. Standard desktop boards that accept only unbuffered memory cannot use this kit.

Registered ECC with 1Rx4 organisation

The decisive specification is the registered ECC design combined with a single-rank 1Rx4 layout at 1.35 V. This matches the Supermicro part numbers MEMDR380LHL07ER16, MEMDR380LSL10ER16, MEMDR380LSL14ER16 and MEMDR380LSV04ER16. Systems that need unbuffered DIMMs or a different rank configuration will not accept these modules.

The registered buffer reduces electrical load on the memory controller, helping stability in multi-DIMM configurations over long periods. No heat spreader is fitted, so adequate chassis airflow is required for continuous operation.
