The Syba SY-PEX40166 adds six 6 Gb/s SATA ports through a single PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. It uses a JMB582 chipset and operates without RAID, presenting each drive directly to the operating system. No driver installation is required for Windows, macOS, Linux or NAS platforms.

Surveillance storage builders

This card suits installers who need up to ten SATA drives or optical drives in a low-profile slot without software RAID overhead. Builders who require hardware RAID levels, data redundancy or bootable RAID arrays should look at a dedicated RAID controller instead.

Shared bandwidth on ports one to five
