The Mean Well HRPG-300-12 is a 324 W single-output supply built for industrial and embedded systems that need a steady 12 V rail. It accepts a universal AC input and includes active power-factor correction for efficient mains usage. The 1U low-profile form factor fits tight rack or chassis spaces where standard ATX units cannot. Buyers who need multiple voltage rails or higher wattage for multi-GPU workstations should look elsewhere.
A built-in DC fan provides forced-air cooling across the full 324 W load range. At no load the unit draws less than 0.5 W, keeping standby heat negligible in always-on installations. Protections against short circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature shut the output down before components overheat. The constant-current limiting circuit prevents sudden current spikes during fault conditions.
The 12 V output is rated for 27 A continuous delivery, which determines whether the supply can drive your specific load. Remote-sense terminals compensate for voltage drop across long cable runs, and a DC-OK signal plus remote on/off control simplify system integration. A 5 V 0.3 A standby output is available for supervisory circuits. The unit has passed a 100 per cent full-load burn-in test.

Mount the 1U low-profile unit, connect universal AC input, attach the DC fan for forced air cooling, then wire the remote sense terminals to the load — skipping the remote sense connection is the step most installers miss.
The built-in DC fan is the only moving part; plan to clean or replace it when airflow drops, and verify the 5V 0.3A standby output still reads correctly during routine checks.
Forced air cooling by the built-in DC fan sets the thermal ceiling; if the fan degrades or intake air exceeds design temperature, over-temperature protection will trip before any electrical limit is reached.
