Enterprise QLC drive for read-heavy workloads
The Solidigm D5-P5336 packs 30.72TB into an E3.S 7.5mm module built on 192-layer QLC 3D NAND. It targets data-centre operators who need maximum capacity per slot for sequential read workloads such as content delivery, analytics or warm-tier storage. The drive is new and rated for 0.56 DWPD over 31.55 PBW.
PCIe 4.0 x4 interface with Opal security
The single spec that decides fit is the PCI-Express 4.0 x4 connection, delivering up to 7000 MBps sequential read and 3000 MBps sequential write. Random performance reaches 1005000 IOPS read and 39200 IOPS write at queue depth 256. Opal encryption is supported for data-at-rest compliance.
E3.S hot-plug bay with 23W active power
Installation requires an E3.S 7.5mm hot-plug cage and a backplane wired for PCIe 4.0 x4. Active power draw peaks at 23W, so the chassis cooling and power budget must accommodate that load. The 90g weight and 1000 G shock rating suit dense vibration-prone racks, while the 0°C to 70°C range covers standard server intake temperatures.
