This 8GB DDR3 1866 ECC RDIMM module is built for HP server and workstation platforms that require registered memory with error correction. It replaces part numbers 731761-B211, 731761-S21, 731657-581, 731761-B21, 731657-081, E2Q94AA and 735303-001. The single-rank 1Rx4 layout uses major-brand chips on a 240-pin DIMM. Systems needing unbuffered DIMMs or non-ECC memory cannot use this module.
The module operates at the standard DDR3 voltage of 1.50V with a CL13 latency rating. Registered buffering reduces the electrical load on the memory controller, which helps keep power draw predictable in multi-DIMM configurations. Passive cooling is sufficient for typical server airflow; no active cooling is required on the module itself.
ECC detection and correction maintain data integrity during continuous workloads such as virtualisation, database serving or compute clusters. Align the notch on the module with the key in the DDR3 slot, press down firmly until the retention clips click into place, and ensure the registered module is seated fully before powering on.
