CyberPower
Battery backup and surge protector delivering 550 VA / 330 W with eight outlets, USB and RJ11 protection
The CyberPower EC550G is a 550 VA / 330 W standby UPS with simulated sine wave output designed to keep desktop computers, workstations, networking devices and home entertainment systems running during brief outages. It provides eight NEMA 5-15R outlets, a USB communication port and RJ11 phone line protection in a compact 120 V package.
The unit operates on standby topology and includes an ECO mode that automatically cuts power to designated outlets when the connected computer is off or asleep, reducing energy consumption. GreenPower UPS technology further lowers power draw through a high-efficiency charger and inverter, while full-time surge protection rated at 526 joules guards equipment continuously.
This UPS upgrades a standard power strip by adding battery runtime of 2.4 minutes at 300 W or 7.35 minutes at 150 W, enough for a controlled shutdown via the included PowerPanel Personal software. It is not suited for loads exceeding 330 W, for equipment requiring pure sine wave output or for installations needing extended runtime beyond a few minutes.

Plug the NEMA 5-15P cord into a grounded 120 V wall outlet, connect equipment to the eight NEMA 5-15R outlets, then install PowerPanel Personal and link the USB cable so the software can manage automatic shutdown.
The sealed lead-acid battery typically requires replacement after three to five years; recharge takes eight hours after each discharge cycle.
Battery runtime is the limiting factor: 2.4 minutes at 300 W or 7.35 minutes at 150 W before the unit shuts down.
