Bi-Directional HDMI/SDI Converter
The Decimator Design MD-LX converts signals between HDMI Type A and 3G/HD/SD-SDI in both directions. It suits broadcast engineers, live-event crews and post-production facilities that need to bridge professional SDI gear with HDMI monitors or recorders. The compact metal enclosure measures 60 x 73.7 x 23 mm and draws under 2.5 watts from a USB power source.
Low-Power USB Operation
The unit runs from a +4.4 V to +5.25 V DC supply over its Micro USB port, consuming less than 2.5 watts in normal use. No fan is present, so operation is silent and suitable for on-camera mounting or quiet studio environments. The same USB connection handles power, control commands and firmware updates without an external brick.
Bundled Power Supply and USB Cable
A USB power supply and cable are included so the converter works immediately from mains power. An HDMI cable is not included and must be sourced separately. The USB link also enables configuration changes and firmware upgrades, extending the device's compatibility with future format revisions.

Pitanja o ovom artiklu
How do I install the Decimator MD-LX and what step do people often miss?
Connect SDI or HDMI sources to the inputs, then power the unit via the Micro USB port using the supplied 5 V adapter; the step often missed is applying firmware updates over that same USB link before first use.
What maintenance or replacement will the MD-LX need later?
No user-serviceable parts exist; long-term care is limited to occasional firmware updates via Micro USB and replacing the external USB power supply or cable if they fail.
What limit appears first during sustained operation of the MD-LX?
The converter draws under 2.5 W from a 4.4–5.25 V USB source, so the first practical limit is the current capacity of the chosen USB power supply or port.
