The Dell PowerEdge T430 is a 5U rack server equipped with two Intel Xeon E5-2650 v4 processors running at 2.2 GHz with a 2.9 GHz turbo. From single-socket or v3 to dual v4

Moving from a single-socket E5-2600 v3 system to this dual-socket v4 configuration doubles the core count and raises the maximum turbo frequency. The jump is worth it when consolidation ratios climb past what one processor can schedule or when licensing costs favour fewer, denser hosts. The board accepts no more than two CPUs, so this is the top processor configuration for the chassis.

128 GB DDR4 with 384 GB ceiling

Eight 16 GB DDR4-2400 ECC registered modules populate half of the twelve DIMM slots, leaving room to triple capacity. The PERC H730P controller with 2 GB cache manages up to sixteen 2.5-inch SAS or SATA drives in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60. Storage headroom ends when all sixteen bays are filled or the controller’s cache is saturated by sustained random writes.
