The 32GB density suits virtualisation hosts and database workloads that benefit from large memory footprints. As a 2Rx4 dual-rank module it offers good bandwidth per slot but consumes two logical ranks per channel. Systems with strict rank-per-channel limits will reach their maximum supported ranks faster than with single-rank alternatives.

DDR4 2933 registered interface constraints

The module runs at DDR4 2933 (PC4-23400) speeds under JEDEC standard timings. Registered buffering adds one clock cycle of command latency but reduces electrical load on the memory controller. Mixed populations with different speeds or ranks will down-clock to the lowest common denominator. Non-ECC or unbuffered DIMMs cannot be used alongside this module.
