Server-grade capacity
This OWC kit delivers 512GB of DDR4 ECC load-reduced memory in two 256GB modules. It is built for Supermicro X11DPD-L, X11DPD-M25, X11DPFF-SNR, X11QPL and X11SPA-T motherboards in workstation and server roles. The modules run at 2933MHz with CL21 latency and 1.2V operation. They are not compatible with standard desktop computers.
Platform integration
Each 288-pin LRDIMM reduces electrical load on the memory controller, allowing higher density per channel on supported Supermicro platforms. The memory is backward compatible with 2133MHz, 2400MHz and 2666MHz bus speeds. It cannot be mixed with unbuffered or registered ECC DIMMs, so the full array must use matching load-reduced modules.
Ideal fit and limits
This upgrade suits administrators extending the life of existing Supermicro X11 servers or building new high-capacity nodes. Buyers who need memory for consumer desktops, laptops or non-LRDIMM platforms should look elsewhere. Systems that require registered ECC or unbuffered DIMMs cannot use these modules.
