The TP-Link EAP655-Wall is an AX3000 wall-plate access point built for hospitality, dormitory and apartment installations. It delivers simultaneous 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz for a combined 2976 Mbps wireless throughput. Four gigabit Ethernet ports provide wired connectivity for multiple in-room devices. Centralised Omada SDN management allows cloud or local control across the property.

Junction Box and PoE Compatibility Check

Verify that the target location uses an 86 mm, EU or US standard junction box for mounting. The unit requires 802.3af/at PoE input or a 12 volts supply; confirm your switch or injector supports the relevant standard. Ensure the upstream switch port provides gigabit bandwidth to avoid bottlenecking the three downlink ports. Check regional channel limits: 11 channels for US and Canada, 13 for EU, 14 for Japan.

In-Room Wired and Wireless Hub

Three downlink gigabit ports connect desktops, smart TVs and VoIP phones while one port offers PoE pass-through for a downstream device. The wall-plate form factor frees up outlets and keeps cabling inside the junction box. HE160 support on the 5 GHz band doubles single-stream peak rates. WPA3 encryption, captive portal and multiple guest authentication methods secure each private network without a separate controller.
