The ASRock Fatal1ty B450 GAMING-ITX/AC is a Mini-ITX motherboard for AMD Ryzen 2000 and 3000 series processors. The board uses the AMD Promontory B450 chipset and fits cases designed for the ITX footprint.

Straightforward ITX build

Installation follows the standard Mini-ITX pattern with two 288-pin DDR4 slots and a single PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. The vertical M.2 Key E socket ships with the 802.11ac module already fitted, so wireless is active immediately. A common issue is forgetting to update the BIOS before installing a newer Ryzen 3000 CPU, which prevents the system from posting.

B450 interface limits

The chipset provides four SATA 6.0Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1 and 10 support. The Ultra M.2 socket runs at PCIe 3.0 x4 (32Gb/s) with Matisse, Summit Ridge, Pinnacle Ridge, Raven Ridge or Picasso CPUs, but drops to x2 (16Gb/s) with other supported processors. Memory tops out at 32GB across two slots, and the LAN controller is limited to 1Gbps.

Rear I/O includes HDMI

The rear panel carries an HDMI port driven by the APU’s integrated Radeon graphics, supporting DirectX 12 and up to 16GB of shared system memory. Audio runs through a Realtek ALC1220 codec delivering 7.1 channels. No legacy video outputs are present, so a discrete GPU or compatible APU is required for display.
