DDR3-1066 Registered Limits

The memory runs at 1066 MHz with CL7 timings and 1.5 V, which is the maximum speed supported by the DL120 G6 when all six registered DIMM sockets are populated. Quad-rank organisation reduces the number of ranks the memory controller can address, so full capacity requires careful slot planning. Systems that require unbuffered UDIMMs or faster DDR3 speeds will not accept these modules.

Quad-Rank Capacity Gate

Each stick is a 4Rx8 quad-rank module, and the DL120 G6 reaches its 32 GB registered maximum only when four such 8 GB DIMMs are installed. With two modules this kit provides 16 GB, but adding a third or fourth quad-rank DIMM hits the controller's rank limit before the socket count is exhausted. Buyers who need more than 32 GB total or who must use dual-rank registered DIMMs instead should select a different part.
