The PowerEdge R650xs is a 1U rack server that fits two Intel Xeon Silver 4310 processors, each with twelve cores at 2.1 GHz and a 3.3 GHz turbo. It ships with 512 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across sixteen 32 GB modules and a PERC H745 RAID controller with 4 GB NV cache. Ten 1.8 TB 10K SAS drives and a quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 card are installed, while iDRAC9 Enterprise and dual 1400 W platinum supplies handle management and power.

Verify rack space and memory growth

Confirm the cabinet can accept a 1U chassis and that the rails supplied match your rack standard. The system holds sixteen DDR4 slots and currently uses all of them, so any memory increase means replacing modules rather than adding. The PERC H745 supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60; plan the array layout before deployment. Network uplinks are limited to the four 1 GbE ports unless an additional OCP 3.0 card is fitted.
