The PowerEdge R730xd is a 2U rack system built around two Intel Xeon E5-2683 v4 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 16 cores. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across eight modules. The platform targets midsize and large enterprises running data warehouses, virtual desktop infrastructure, databases or high-performance computing workloads.

Hot-swap bays and redundant power

Twenty-four 2.5-inch drive bays support SATA and SAS devices behind a Dell PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache and battery-backed RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Two 750 W platinum power supplies provide hot-swap redundancy. A quad-port network daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links, while iDRAC 8 Enterprise enables full remote management. Rails and a front bezel are included.

24 DIMM slots for 1.5 TB max
