5 MP OV5647 Camera for Raspberry Pi

The KEHIPI camera module uses an Omnivision OV5647 sensor delivering five megapixels of effective resolution. It connects through a 15-pin MIPI CSI interface and is compatible with Raspberry Pi 5, 4, 3B+, 3B, 2 and Model A or B boards. The fixed-focus lens covers a 54 by 41 degree field of view.

1080p video at 30 fps with fixed focus

Still images reach 2592 by 1944 pixels while video tops out at 1080p at thirty frames per second. Focus is fixed from one metre to infinity, so close-up macro work is not supported. Peak current draw is 300 mA, supplied directly from the Pi board.

Upgrade from basic webcam or no camera

This module replaces USB webcams that occupy a USB port and add latency over the CSI bus. It is not suited for buyers who need autofocus, higher than 1080p resolution, or a global shutter for fast motion. Pi Zero owners cannot use this board due to the different connector.
