This new Supermicro SYS-8048B-TRFT is a 4U rackmount server system with 24 front-accessible 3.5-inch hot-swap drive bays for SAS and SATA drives. It ships with four Intel Xeon E7-4850 v2 processors, each running at 2.3 GHz with 12 cores and a 2.8 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 512 GB of DDR3 1600 MHz registered ECC memory across 32 DIMM slots. A MegaRAID 9361-8i controller provides RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with 1 GB cache and battery backup.
