The EN-Labs PCIEU32D20KIT adds four USB 3.0 ports to a desktop through a single PCI Express slot. Two Type-A ports sit on the rear bracket and two more sit on an included 3.5-inch front-panel bay. The VIA VL805 chipset drives the connection and the card draws power from the slot with an optional Molex 4-pin feed. It fits any motherboard with a PCIe 1x, 4x, 8x or 16x slot.

Upgrade from USB 2.0 or missing front ports

The jump is worth it when a board only offers USB 2.0 headers or lacks front-panel USB 3.0 altogether. SuperSpeed 5.0 Gbps throughput is up to ten times faster than USB 2.0 and the card remains backward compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0 devices.
