Panoramic Glass ATX Mid Tower

The HYTE Y40 is a mid tower chassis built from steel, ABS and two full side panels of tempered glass. It accepts ATX, Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboards and presents a bezel-less panoramic view of the internal hardware. A PCI Express 4.0 x16 riser cable is included so the graphics card can be mounted vertically in the four full-height expansion slots.

Riser Cable Routing And Fan Mounts

Installing the supplied riser cable requires routing it behind the motherboard tray and seating it firmly in the primary PCIe slot before the graphics card is attached vertically. The pre-installed 120 mm fans at the rear and beneath the floor use standard 4-pin connectors; the side bracket accepts two 120 mm or 140 mm fans, the top takes three 120 mm fans, and the bottom fits one 120 mm or 140 mm unit. Dust filters on the top, side and bottom panels lift out for cleaning without tools.

GPU Clearance And Radiator Limits

The vertical graphics orientation allows cards up to 422 mm long and 94 mm tall, though 80 mm or less is recommended for optimal airflow around the riser cable. CPU air coolers are limited to 183 mm in height. Radiator support reaches 360 mm at the top, 280 mm on the side with a 120 mm thickness limit, and 120 mm at the rear. The ATX power supply bay accommodates units up to 224 mm deep.
