Socket and processor support

The ASUS E3 PRO GAMING V5 uses the LGA 1151 socket and the Intel C232 chipset. It accepts Xeon E3-1200 v5 series processors as well as Core, Pentium and Celeron CPUs in the same package. Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 is supported, but the board is not compatible with Intel 8th Gen CPUs.

Thermals noise and power draw

The board has no onboard video chipset, so all graphics output comes from a discrete card. Passive heatsinks cool the chipset and voltage regulators without adding fan noise. Power draw scales with the installed CPU and the number of populated DIMM slots.

Memory capacity and speed

Four 288-pin DDR4 slots support dual-channel memory up to 64 GB at 2133 MT/s. This maximum capacity and speed are the primary limits for workloads that depend on memory bandwidth and capacity.
