The Dell PowerEdge M640 is a half-height blade server built for dense compute workloads such as virtualization, private cloud and high-performance computing. It fits into PowerEdge MX or M1000e chassis and ships with iDRAC9 Enterprise for remote management. Two 24-core processors run at 2.1 GHz with 3.7 GHz turbo to handle demanding multi-threaded applications.

The system arrives with 64 GB of registered ECC DDR4-2666 memory across four DIMMs and offers 16 slots supporting up to 2 TB total. This capacity ceiling is the single figure that determines whether the blade can hold your working set or if a memory expansion is required before deployment.
