This Dell PowerEdge R730 arrives with dual Xeon E5-2650L v4 processors at 1.7 GHz and 512 GB of DDR4 ECC registered memory, filling 14 cores per socket for dense multi-tenant workloads. The 8 LFF chassis supports up to eight 3.5-inch drives and includes a PERC H730 SAS controller plus integrated Intel I350/X540 networking with two 10 GbE and two 1 GbE ports. Dual 495 W supplies and iDRAC8 Enterprise remote management complete a platform built for 24/7 operation.

Maximum memory capacity is 768 GB

The installed 512 GB leaves headroom for growth, but the board tops out at 768 GB across 24 DIMM slots using DDR4 RDIMMs or LRDIMMs. Buyers who need more than 768 GB must select a different server generation because this platform cannot address larger capacities.

Slide rails are optional

The unit ships without a rail kit or 3.5-inch drive carriers; both must be sourced separately before rack mounting or adding storage. Firmware is updated to the latest stable release and a full burn-in has been run, so the only remaining steps are physical installation and drive population.
