The GIGABYTE MZ33-AR1 is a single-socket server motherboard built for the AMD EPYC 9004 and 9005 series on the SP5 socket. 12-channel DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 expansion

Compared with earlier SP3-based boards, this model moves to 12-channel DDR5-4800/5200 MT/s at 1 DPC and adds four PCIe 5.0 x16 slots plus six MCIO 8i connectors for Gen5 x8 or SATA. The jump is worth it when workloads need the extra memory bandwidth and the 160 PCIe lanes the processor provides. It is not for systems that can operate within eight-channel memory or PCIe 4.0 slot limits.

E-ATX layout with dedicated management

The E-ATX board fits standard server chassis and uses a single 24-pin ATX plus multiple 8-pin CPU power connectors. Installers should populate all 24 DIMM slots in the correct channel order to enable 12-channel mode. The ASPEED AST2600 BMC provides dedicated management LAN and IPMI access. It is not for builds that lack BMC-aware infrastructure or that use consumer power supplies without the required EPS connectors.
