Ultrastar SSD1600MR 1.6TB SAS drive

The Ultrastar SSD1600MR is a 1.6TB enterprise solid state drive built for 24x7 server and high performance computing environments. It uses MLC NAND flash and a 12Gb/s SAS interface to deliver ultra-high performance tier-0 read endurance.

Capacity and headroom

With 1.6TB of usable capacity the drive sustains up to 130,000 random read IOPS and 30,000 random write IOPS at 4KB. Random write workloads will reach the write IOPS ceiling before the read limit, so plan capacity headroom for write intensive OLTP or cloud workloads.

Build integration

The 2.5 inch 15mm high form factor fits standard drive bays in space and power constrained chassis. Active power draw is 2.2W and the operating range spans 0°C to +60°C. A SAS backplane or controller with 12Gb/s support is required; the drive is not intended for personal PCs.
