The HP ProLiant DL380 Gen9 is a 2U rack server built for virtualised workloads and business applications. SATA-only software RAID

The onboard B140i controller provides RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 for SATA drives only; it does not support SAS or NVME arrays. Buyers who need hardware RAID acceleration or SAS/NVME connectivity must add a separate controller card. The eight SFF bays accept 2.5-inch drives, and optional bay kits can expand capacity to 16 or 24 bays or add NVME slots in specific bays.
