Universal e-Paper Driver HAT

This universal driver board connects SPI e-Paper raw panels to Raspberry Pi Zero, 2B, 3B and 3B+ models as well as Jetson Nano and STM32 boards. It is designed for makers and developers building low-power display projects. The HAT format simplifies prototyping on supported single-board computers.

SPI interface and voltage limits

Communication relies on a standard SPI bus, so the host controller must provide a compatible SPI master peripheral. An onboard voltage translator allows safe operation with both 3.3V and 5V logic levels. Panels requiring parallel interfaces or higher voltage logic are not supported by this shield.

32-pin panel connector

The board exposes a 32-pin connector that determines which raw e-Paper panels can be attached directly. Panels with a different pin count or pin-out will need an adapter cable or custom wiring. Verify the panel datasheet matches this connector before purchase.

Jautājumi par šo preci

Which e-Paper Driver HAT version should I choose for a 3.3 V microcontroller?

The board includes an onboard voltage translator that works with both 3.3 V and 5 V MCUs, so a single version covers either logic level.

What does the 32-pin SPI interface mean when the HAT is mounted on a Raspberry Pi?

The 32-pin header aligns with the Pi's GPIO connector and carries the SPI signals needed to drive compatible raw e-paper panels.

How does the SPI interface cap the panel refresh rate in practice?

SPI clock speed and the panel's own timing specifications set the maximum refresh rate; the HAT itself adds no extra bottleneck.
