Raspberry Pi HQ Camera IMX477

This 12.3 megapixel camera module uses the Sony IMX477 sensor to deliver higher resolution than 8 megapixel alternatives. It targets Raspberry Pi developers and makers who need detailed stills or video for projects such as 3D printer monitoring, computer vision or AI tasks like facial recognition. The board works with every Raspberry Pi model that has a camera connector, including Pi 5, 4, 3, Zero and Zero 2W.

Video modes and OS support

The sensor captures 4056 by 3040 pixel stills and supports 2028 by 1080 at 50 frames per second, 2028 by 1520 at 40 frames per second and 1332 by 990 at 120 frames per second. Automatic IR cut switching enables usable footage in both daylight and low light. The module requires Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye from 28 January 2022 or later with libcamera; legacy OS releases are not supported.

CS mount lens and dual cables

A CS mount lens is included so you can attach standard CCTV or machine vision optics for the field of view your application demands. Two 300 millimetre FPC cables ship in the box: a 22 pin cable for Pi Zero boards and a 15 pin to 22 pin cable for full size Pi A and B series plus Compute Module boards. This removes the need to source separate interconnects for different Pi form factors.
