The MSI SPATIUM M480 is a 2TB internal SSD built on a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface with NVMe 1.4 support. It uses 3D NAND flash and a PHISON E18 controller paired with 2GB of DDR4 cache. The M.2 2280 form factor includes an integrated aluminium heatsink for thermal management.
This drive targets users who need sustained throughput for large game libraries, video projects or heavy multitasking. The 1400 TBW rating and 1.6 million hour MTBF back endurance for frequent writes. Systems limited to PCIe 3.0 or SATA interfaces will not realise the stated sequential speeds.
The stacked-fin heatsink dissipates heat so the controller can maintain up to 7000 MBps read and 6800 MBps write during extended transfers. Random performance reaches 650000 IOPS read and 700000 IOPS write under load. LDPC error correction and end-to-end data path protection preserve integrity without throttling.
