This kit provides 512GB of DDR4 2933 ECC load-reduced memory across four 128GB modules. It is built for the HP ProLiant XL270d Gen10 server platform. The modules operate at 1.2V with CL21 latency and an 8Rx4 rank configuration. Buyers using standard desktop boards or consumer workstations cannot install this memory.

ECC load-reduced operation

The load-reduced design lowers electrical load on the server memory bus, allowing the high 512GB capacity to run at DDR4 2933. ECC corrects single-bit errors to protect data integrity in critical workloads. The kit replaces HP part numbers including P12404-B21 and P00928-B21. It cannot be mixed with unbuffered or standard registered DIMMs in the same system.

Capacity headroom and speed limits

Four 128GB modules fill four slots to reach the 512GB total, leaving no empty slots for further expansion on a four-channel controller. The modules also run at 2133, 2400 and 2666MHz when the platform requires lower speeds. Workloads needing more than 512GB or faster than 2933MT/s will exceed what this kit can deliver.
