Purpose and audience

The Qnap TVS-h674-i3-16G-US is a six-bay desktop NAS built around an Intel Core i3-12100 processor with four cores and eight threads. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 memory installed and supports up to 64 GB across two SODIMM slots. The platform targets small businesses and creative teams that need ZFS-based data integrity, inline deduplication and near-limitless snapshots for file serving, virtualization or collaborative video editing.

Build, connectors and daily use

The chassis accepts six 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA drives and provides two M.2 PCIe Gen 4 slots for NVMe caching. Front-panel LEDs show status for each drive bay, LAN, USB and M.2 devices. Networking consists of two 2.5 GbE RJ-45 ports, while external expansion uses one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and two Type-A ports, all at 10 Gbps. The 250 W internal supply handles 100 to 240 V input. Buyers who need more than six drive bays or 10 GbE networking built in will need a different platform.
