Backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and 1.1 ensures function on older ports at reduced throughput. A built-in LED indicates power status during extended copy or backup sessions. Hot-swap capability allows sequential drive changes without rebooting.

Interface Practical Limits

Maximum signalling rate is capped at the USB 3.0 5Gbps specification regardless of drive capability. Actual throughput depends on the connected drive's native SATA I or II speed and the host controller performance.
